The Val d'Intelvi is a valley in Lombardy , Como province in Italy on the border with Switzerland .
geography
In this valley lie the municipalities of Argegno , Blessagno , Centro Valle Intelvi (excluding the Erbonne district ), Cerano d'Intelvi , Claino con Osteno , Dizzasco , Laino , Lanzo d'Intelvi , Pellio Intelvi , Pigra , Ponna , Ramponio Verna and Schignano .
It has the characteristic shape of an inverted “Y”, with the corners slightly different to Lake Como and Lake Lugano . The upper apex is at the highest altitude in the village of Sighignola (1302 m), which is part of the municipality of Lanzo d'Intelvi. The distance from the bottom of the valley to the top is about 25 kilometers. The two rivers that drain from the valley into Lake Como and Lake Lugano are both called Telo , the latter is also called Telo di Osteno to distinguish it .
