The Flinders Highway is a trunk road in the south of the Australian state of South Australia . It connects the Lincoln Highway in Port Lincoln , along the western coastline of the Eyre Peninsula, with the Eyre Highway east of Ceduna . The Flinders Highway was part of Alternative 1 of National Highway 1 in Australia.
course
The Flinders Highway begins in Port Lincoln on the southern tip of the Eyre Peninsula as a continuation of the Lincoln Highway (B100) to the northwest. After 25 km the Tod Highway (B90) branches off to the north . Only 7 km away is the junction of the road to Coffin Bay , a center of oyster farming in South Australia.
There are only a few places on the Flinders Highway on its way to. Elliston , Streaky Bay, and Smoky Bay are the largest. The Birdseye Highway (B91) joins Elliston from the east and connects the settlement directly with Cowell on the east coast of the peninsula. About 7 km east of Ceduna, the Flinders Highway meets the Eyre Highway and ends. Ceduna is known for whale watching tours that are offered to tourists.
