The Floor Truck Fabriek (abbreviated FTF ) was a Dutch manufacturer of trucks , especially heavy trucks and special vehicles, as well as truck trailers and semi-trailers . After the Second World War, FTF Mack LKW assembled. After this order was not extended, the AGV developed a truck itself. Numerous components and assemblies were obtained from suppliers, such as axles from u. a. Kirkstall, Kessler and Steyr , manual transmissions from Eaton-Fuller and automatic transmissions from Allison Transmission .
The engines also came from other manufacturers, above all from the US company Detroit Diesel . The first cabs were manufactured in-house, after which they were obtained from the British company Motor Panels .
FTF was based in Wijchen and Hilversum (company headquarters). The company built heavy trucks and, in particular, heavy-duty tractors for the transport industry, but also military vehicles for the Dutch army and terminal tractors for the container terminal in the port of Rotterdam . In addition, FTF also built semi-trailers and truck trailers.
A total of around 1000 trucks were built. Truck production was abandoned in the late 1980s after it became apparent that developing a successor model would be too expensive.
In 2006 the remaining semi-trailer and trailer division was taken over by the also Dutch trailer manufacturer Nooteboom and then sold to competitor Pacton in 2010 due to a reorientation of this company . Both have continued to use the brand name so far.
