Flora Biach

Flora Biach , née Schiffmann, (born June 12, 1877 in Vienna ; † October 19, 1942 in Theresienstadt concentration camp ) was an Austrian art historian .

Life

She was the daughter of the notary Emanuel Schiffmann (1833–1899) and married to the businessman Philipp Biach (1867–1942). She studied art history at the University of Vienna and received her doctorate from Josef Strzygowski with a dissertation on Giovanni and Ludovico Burnacini . On July 22, 1942, she and her husband were taken from Vienna to the Theresienstadt concentration camp on Transport 33, where they were both murdered.
