Florian Ostertag (born February 17, 1980 ) is a German singer-songwriter .

biography

Ostertag began his music career in 2002 with his band The Internal Soul Federation . After a few years on smaller stages, he became active as a solo artist under his real name and toured with artists such as Boy , the Alin Coen Band and Joris . He is also a permanent member of Philipp Poisel's band . Ostertag plays guitar, mandolin, piano, harmonium and accordion. He is a trained sound engineer and has a degree in electrical engineering.

Ostertag became known to a wider audience through his appearances on the TV format TV Noir , with whose presenter Christoph "Tex" Drieschner he also toured. His melancholy debut album entitled The Constant Search was released in 2009, followed three years later by an EP with new songa and live versions of some pieces.

In 2017, a documentary by the director Niclas Mehne about Easter Day was released. It bears the title The Constant Search Florian Ostertag based on the debut album . In addition to Ostertag, his parents and the musicians who accompany him as a live band have a say in the film. In addition, Alin Coen, Tex and Philipp Poisel comment on the artist Ostertag. The film was shown in several German cities as part of a concert tour in spring 2017. A quote from that film:

Ten years after the debut album, Ostertag released the album Flo and the Machine in 2019 , initially self-published. The title is an allusion to the name of the well-known English band " Florence + The Machine " around the singer-songwriter Florence Leontine Mary Welch. The album comes as a classic vinyl or as a songbook with lyrics, guitar chords and the accompanying CD and was officially released on AdP Records in February 2020.
