Florian Pagitsch

Florian Pagitsch (* 1959 in Tamsweg ) is an Austrian organist , musicologist and music teacher .

life and work

Childhood & adolescence

Florian Pagitsch was born in Tamsweg, in Lungau , in 1959 . He grew up as the oldest of five siblings in Salzburg . The family lived in the St. Peter's Abbey District , where he came into contact with music, especially piano and organ , at an early age . As a child and adolescent, he already took on tasks in the liturgical organ , especially on the Hans Mertel organ in St. Peter, the Franz Mauracher organ in the Franciscan Church and the Dreher & Flamm organ in Maria Plain .

Professional background

Florian Pagitsch studied organ under Alois Forer at the Mozarteum University of Music and Performing Arts , and later musicology at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 2005 . In his dissertation , Pagisch u. a. the versettes Johann Ernst Eberlin . Florian Pagitsch has given concerts in many European countries, as well as in Australia, Israel, New Zealand, China, Japan and the USA.

Dr. Florian Pagitsch is associate professor for organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna , where he teaches organ , figured bass and piano accompaniment at the Institute Ludwig van Beethoven (keyboard instruments and music education) .
