Florian Rüegg (born July 3, 1983 ) is a former Swiss biathlete and cross-country skier .

Florian Rüegg started for the Am Bachtel club . He denied between 2000 and 2010 more than 60 international cross-country skiing race, especially in Continental and Alpine Cup and in FIS races . Especially in FIS races he was able to place in the top ten several times. The end of his cross-country skiing career was the Winter Universiade 2011 in Erzurum , where he was 30th in the 10-kilometer classic, 29th in the pursuit and 25th in the classic sprint.

Rüegg had his first international appearances in the European Biathlon Cup in 2008 in Langdorf , where he was 59th of the individual. The 44th place in the following sprint race was also the best result in the second highest international biathlon racing series. He played his last international biathlon appearances in 2010 in Nové Město na Moravě .

At the Swiss Biathlon Championships in 2007 , Rüegg won the bronze medal in the sprint behind Jürg Kunz and Bruno Joller . In 2010 he won his only two national championship titles with the sprint and the pursuit race, benefiting from the absence of the national squad athletes.
