Jürg Kunz (* 5. July 1982 in the forest ) is a former Swiss biathlete and cross-country skiers .

Jürg Kunz lives in Gibswil . His home club is SC am Bachtel , he was trained by Markus Segessenmann. He started biathlon in 1997 and made his international debut in 1998. The first major event was the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2000 in Hochfilzen , where place 57 in the individual was the best result. In 2002 in Ridnaun he only just missed a top ten position in eleventh place in the sprint, and in 2003 in Kościelisko he was 49th in the individual best result. He also took part in the junior races of the European Biathlon Championships in Kontiolahti in 2002 and in Forni Avoltri in 2003 . In 2002 he placed between places 20 and 24 in the three individual races, and in 2003 between 28 and 35.

Kunz had his greatest success at the Swiss championships in biathlon 2007 in Les Mosses , where he benefited from the absence of the Swiss elite squad and won the national championship titles in sprint and pursuit.

Between 2004 and 2008 Kunz also took part in ten FIS cross-country skiing races . The highlight of the sport was participation in the 2005 Military World Ski Championships in Predeal , where he was 33rd over 15-kilometer freestyle. Between 2010 and 2014 he also competed several times in marathons in Samedan .
