Florian Riegler

Florian Riegler (born January 2, 1982 ) is an Italian extreme climber and filmmaker .

Life

Riegler started sport climbing at the age of 13 . In 2004 he took part in the first ascent of the "Zwergenkönig" (400 meters) on the Rotwand ( rose garden group ). The route could not be repeated by any rope team until today. In 2010 a first winter ascent of the route "Schachmatt" M10 +, 55 °, 1000 meters at the Königspitze ( Ortler group ) with Martin Riegler followed.

In 2007 he won the Italian championships in ice climbing and climbs 8c + in Arco with "Caudio Cafè". In 2012 he played Reinhold Messner in the film Messner . In the same year, Riegler and his brother organized an expedition to Pakistan, where they managed the first ascent of the 4,950 m high Kako Peak. In 2013 he undertook the first ascent of the modern classic “Coyote” 5.12a on the Pfattner walls. In 2015 he doubled Josh Brolin in the Hollywood film Everest .

Riegler is also a farmer on the family farm with vineyards and orchards in Bolzano . He is married and has two children.
