Florian Schmidt (marksman)

Florian Schmidt (born March 31, 1986 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a German marksman who mainly competes in the free pistol discipline and also in the air pistol discipline .

Florian Schmidt is a trained IT system electronics technician and is currently a candidate for fire chief at the fire department's sports promotion group. He starts for the Schützengilde Frankfurt ad Oder 1406 and is trained by Karl-Heinz Urban, previously by Peter Kraneis. The man from Frankfurt achieved all of his notable successes with the free pistol, in 2006 he finished eighth at the World Championships in Zagreb . At his first European men's championship in 2007 in Granada , he reached 22nd place. With third place at the World Cup in Munich , Schmidt was able to qualify for the Beijing Olympic Games . He competes over 50 meters with the free pistol and over 10 meters with the air pistol. Florian Schmidt's brother Alexander is a handball player at 1. VFL Potsdam.
