Florian Trmal (born August 29, 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian basketball player. He is under contract with Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten .
career
Trmal's parents both played in the Austrian national basketball team in the 1970s. His father Heinz Gaisrucker was his youth coach. He went through the youth department of the BasketFighters in Vienna's Ottakring district , had to sit out for a long time due to a herniated disc before he went to Germany and continued his development in the Bayer Leverkusen youth team . He also played in the men's team of the Rhinelander, first in the 1st regional league, then in the 2009/10 season in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .
In 2010 Trmal went back to Austria and played in the Bundesliga in 2010/11 for BK Klosterneuburg . In 2011/12 he was also active in the top Austrian league for UBC St. Pölten and between 2012 and 2014 for BC Vienna . With the Viennese he became Austrian champion in 2013.
In 2014 Trmal was signed by Bundesliga rival Arkadia Traiskirchen . In the summer of 2018 he moved back to Vienna with his brother Martin and joined the BC Hallmann (formerly BC Zepter). After a year in the capital, he went to SKN St. Pölten for the 2019/20 season and in this way returned to a previous place of work. In the 2019/20 season, which ended prematurely due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus , Trmal was the second best scorer in the league (22.2 points / game).
National team
In 2017 Trmal took part in the European Championship qualification for the first time with the senior national team.
