The Flowserve Corporation is a listed supplier of pumps, valves, seals and services for power generators as well as the oil and gas industry, based in Irving , Texas. The group employs 16,000 people in more than 50 countries worldwide.
history
Flowserve was formed in 1997 through the merger of BW / IP and Durco International; however, history goes back to 1790 with the original founding of Simpson & Thompson (later Worthington Simpson Pumps), one of the predecessors of the BW / IP company. More recent acquisitions are u. a. Invensys Flow Control in 2002, Thompsons Kelly & Lewis in 2004, and Interseal in 2005.
Flowserve in Germany
Flowserve generates around 9% of its total sales in Germany. Flowserve has approx. 1400 employees in Germany. a. in the Ahaus, Dortmund, Essen, Ettlingen, Leuna and Itzehoe locations.
Flowserve SIHI Germany GmbH is based in Itzehoe. Sterling SIHI GmbH (founded in 1920) was taken over by the Flowserve Group at the beginning of 2015 and employs a little over 500 people.
Flowserve in Austria
In June 2018, the end of the year pump production in Brunn am Gebirge was announced. A competence center and thus 60 of the previous 186 positions are to be retained. The operationally separate production site for control and shut-off valves in Villach, with its 250 employees, is not affected by these measures.

When it comes to industrial valves , the biggest competitors are Pentair , Cameron International , Emerson Electric , General Electric and the Crane Company .
