The Kisangani-Bangoka Airport ( French Aéroport International de Kisangani , IATA : FKI ; ICAO : FZIC ) is the international airport of the city of Kisangani in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . It is about eleven kilometers east of the city.

The airport is connected to domestic destinations by the airline Congo Airways . The foreign airline Ethiopian Airlines is the only one to offer connections to Kisangani.

Incidents

  • On July 8, 2011, a 45-year-old Boeing 727-022 of Hewa Bora Airways (later flyCongo) (9Q-COP) coming from Kinshasa had an accident while approaching Kisangani-Bangoka Airport (Democratic Republic of the Congo). 77 of the 115 people on board were killed (see Hewa Bora Airways flight 952 ) . As a result, Hewa Bora Airways' flight license was suspended on July 13th, but it soon continued to fly as flyCongo.
