Congo Airways is the national airline of the Democratic Republic of the Congo based at Ndjili Airport . The airline carried 210,000 passengers in 2016.

history

Congo Airways was founded in 2014 with the help of Air France as the national airline (until 2006 it was the Lignes aériennes congolaises ) and started operating in 2015.

Destinations

Flight operations should begin on August 20, 2015 with the first Airbus A320-200 to eight national destinations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The inaugural flight from Ndjili Airport to Lubumbashi finally took place on October 9, 2015, and scheduled services to Mbuji-Mayi , Goma , Gemena , Kananga , Kindu and Mbandaka began on October 20 . Meanwhile, the cities of Bunia, Kalemie, Isiro Matadi and Kisangani are also served.

It has been planned since 2017 to serve international destinations, including Burundi , South Africa , Angola , Cameroon , Uganda , Gabon and Kenya . There has been a flight to Johannesburg in South Africa since February 2018 .
