The La Florida Airport (Spanish: Aeródromo La Florida) is a Chilean airport about 6 kilometers east of the city of La Serena in the Coquimbo . The airport was inaugurated in 1949 and has been the most important airport in the region ever since. In the coming years it is to be further expanded and renovated.
On December 9, 1982 plunged Fairchild F-27 of Aeronor Chile ( air vehicle license CC-CJE ), two kilometers from the runway at La Florida from. After an engine damage was to a stall come. All 46 people on board died (42 passengers and 4 crew members).
