Sky Airline is the second largest Chilean airline based in Santiago de Chile and based at Santiago de Chile Airport . It is a company of Sky Service SAdba and Avianca Holdings .
history
Sky Airline was founded in 2001 by the German businessman Jürgen Paulmann and started scheduled flight operations in 2002. Today it is owned by Jürgen Paulmann (55%) and CEO Fernando Uauy (45%). According to a letter of intent signed in December 2014, the Colombian Avianca Holdings should take over a 59% stake in the airline. In 2015, it was decided to transform Sky Airline into a low-cost airline . In 2018, Sky Airline was voted the best low-cost airline in South America by Skytrax .

Former fleet
From its founding in 2001 to September 30, 2013, Sky Airline operated 21 Boeing 737-200s . From February to April 2008, a Boeing 737-300 leased from Aerolínea Principal was also operated.
