The Memanbetsu Airport ( Jap. 女満別空港 , Memambetsu-Kuko ) is a small commercial airport in the city Ōzora , sub-prefecture Okhotsk , Hokkaido in Japan . The airport is located about five kilometers south of the city center of Ōzora on the north coast of Hokkaido. From here there are currently (2009) only domestic connections. Memanbetsu Airport is a 3rd class airport under Japanese law .
The airport was originally located on the territory of the city of Memanbetsu, which was incorporated into the city of Ōzora in 2006 together with the village of Higashimokoto .
Due to the proximity to the touristically frequented Shiretoko National Park , around one million passengers use the airport every year.
