The Naryan-Mar airport ( Russian Аэропорт Нарьян-Мар ) is located about three kilometers east of the Russian city of Naryan-Mar , the capital of the Autonomous Okrug Nenets in the northwest of Russia . The airfield was built as a military airfield during the Second World War and has also been used civilly since 1981. The airport has a concrete runway 2562 meters long and 40 meters wide, as well as two 650 meters long and 60 meters wide, unpaved crossed runways in the south of the field, which are mainly used by Antonov An-2 and helicopters.
