The Puerto Natales Airport (actually: Aeródromo Teniente Julio Gallardo) is a Chilean airport near the city of Puerto Natales in the Región de Magallanes . After Punta Arenas Airport , it is the second most important in the region. By enlarging the runway, the airport has been able to be used for commercial scheduled flights from Santiago de Chile and Punta Arenas since 2016 . Nevertheless, it is mainly used in the Chilean winter, especially by tourists who want to visit the nearby Torres del Paine National Park .
