The Turaif Airport ( english Turaif Domestic Airport ; Arabic مطار طريف المحلي; ICAO code : OETR , IATA code : TUI ) is a national airport around eight kilometers northeast of the district capital Turaif of the governorate of the same name in the province of al-Hudud al-Shamaliyya in Saudi Arabia . The airport was opened in 1951/52 (1371 AH ) and last expanded in 2010 (1431 AH ). It has an 896 square meter terminal, which also houses a VIP lounge, and a 23,000 square meter apron.
