The Saarlouis-Düren airfield is a traffic airfield about 6 kilometers west of Saarlouis , near the district of Düren in the municipality of Wallerfangen . It has an 800 m long asphalt runway in the 07/25 direction and is approved for approaches according to visual flight rules (VFR). The nickname is Saarlouis Info on the frequency 121.210 MHz, the ICAO code is EDRJ.

history

After the Ford works had settled on the former airfield site, the new airfield was opened. Today, the square next to private aircraft is also home Gyrocopter ( gyroplanes ) and several associations of engine and glider and parachutist .

Virtual airport

On February 13, 2012, Aviasim Designs published the Saarlouis-Düren airfield for Microsoft Flight Simulator 9. The airfield is displayed almost realistically, but without the inclined runway as Microsoft Flight Simulator does not support this. A version for Microsoft Flight Simulator X has been announced, but no details are known yet.
