Fluxbuntu was an unofficial derivative of the Linux distribution Ubuntu .

Fluxbuntu was specially designed for older computers. In order to meet this claim, some changes have been made compared to the official Ubuntu derivatives, such as Kubuntu or Xubuntu . The most important is the use of the economical Fluxbox window manager with the ROX filer as a file manager. The Fluxbox menu is dynamically linked to the programs installed via the Advanced Packaging Tool . In addition, some of the programs supplied have been replaced by more economical alternatives. AbiWord (instead of OpenOffice.org ) and Kazehakase (instead of Mozilla Firefox ) as the browser are used as word processing .

The last stable version of Fluxbuntu is based on Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon". There is also a test version based on Ubuntu 8.10 and an experimental version based on Ubuntu 9.04. All three versions have not been maintained for years.
