Canisy Castle was built in the Middle Ages and rebuilt in the 16th, 18th and 19th centuries. It is surrounded by 30 hectares of park. The park was laid out in the first half of the 17th century, refurbished in the English style from 1830 and later, from 1925, redesigned in the neoclassical style by the landscape architect Achille Duchêne (1866-1947) . Some notable outbuildings have been preserved, including the old stables, the orangery , the greenhouses and the adjacent vegetable garden. The stables of the Ferme de la Mesnagerie were built in 1854, the barn of the Ferme de Saint-Gilles and the round vegetable garden were built around 1850. The mill of Saint-Gilles, built in 1815, and the mill of Canisy were also part of the property. The castle is partly classified as a Monument historique ('historical monument'), partly entered in the additional directory of the Monuments historiques . It is privately owned.
