Folcmar
Folcmar († July 18, 969 ) was Archbishop of Cologne from 965 to 969 .
Life
The origin of Folcmar, sometimes also called Folcmarus, Volcmarus or Folkmar, is not completely clear. But he seems to be a son of Count von Harzgau Friedrich II and his wife Bia. However, he is often mentioned as a student of his predecessor Archbishop Brun . Before his elevation to Archbishop of Cologne, Folcmar was canon of Hildesheim , canon of Cologne and provost of Bonn . At the turn of the year 965/966 Folcmar received the Archdiocese of Cologne from Emperor Otto I. Folcmar died on July 18, 969, and was succeeded by the well-known Archbishop Gero .
