Fontaine Gaillon
The Fontaine Gaillon is a fountain on a house on Place Gaillon. The fountain in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris has been protected as a monument ( Monument historique ) since 1925 .
history
The fountain was built in 1827 according to plans by the architect Louis Visconti . At the same place there was previously a fountain built in 1707 by Jean Beausire . The sculpture was created by Georges Jacquot ; it depicts the young Triton stabbing a dolphin with a trident .
