Louis Tullius Joachim Visconti , also Ludovico Tullio Giocchino Visconti , (born February 11, 1791 in Rome , † December 29, 1853 in Paris ) was a French architect and held the honorary title of Architecte de l'Empereur .

Visconti was a son of the Italian archaeologist Ennio Quirino Visconti . He came to Paris as a child and was granted French citizenship in 1799 .

Between 1808 and 1817 Visconti studied in the studio of the architect Charles Percier . Thanks to the close collaboration between his teacher and Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine , Visconti also worked in his workshop. At the age of 17, Visconti began studying at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris in 1808 . Immediately afterwards, he was entrusted with the construction management of the new "Paris Wine Hall". Further stations in his career were in 1822 supervising the construction of the Ministry of Finance and in 1825 the architect in charge of the construction of the great Paris library.

Visconti's last major order was the new building or renovation of the Louvre . He was still able to draw up the plans, but he no longer saw their execution. Louis Visconti died six weeks before his 62nd birthday on December 29, 1853 in Paris. He found his final resting place in the Père-Lachaise cemetery .
