Music video and awards

The video recordings for the song took place in January 2002 and were directed by Irv Gotti himself. The video shows how Ashanti's friend ( Terrence Howard ) gets involved in criminal machinations and cheats with the Love And Hip Hop Atlanta reality star Althea, which leads to the separation after an argument. The lyrics suggest that Ashanti still feels love for him and cannot overcome those feelings. She begins to feel both love and hate for him in her heart and mind. Charli Baltimore , Vita, Ja Rule and Irv Gotti can be seen in the supporting roles . The video was shot in the same style as the film Good Fellas , with Ashanti as Karen Hill and Terrence Howard as Henry Hill . Irv Gotti and Ja Rule take on the roles of Jimmy Conway and Paul Cicero .
