Irv Gotti (born June 26, 1970 in Queens , New York City ), whose real name is Irving Lorenzo , is an African-American hip-hop producer and head of The Inc.

Career

His career began in 1995 when he produced the album The Natural for New York MC Mic Geronimo . By productions of some tracks on Jay-Z 's album Reasonable Doubt (1997), the DMX album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot in 1998 and the Ja-Rule - debut album Venni Vetti Vicci 1999, he quickly became renowned in the scene.

In 2000 the Def Jam label paved the way for Irv Gotti to open the Murder Inc. sub-label , on which he was allowed to produce his own artists. He signed the then unknown Ashanti Douglas and produced her debut album Ashanti , with which he made his final breakthrough as a hit producer.
