Footballers' Wives (stylized proper spelling : footballers wive $ ) is a British television series.
The television series is produced by Shed Productions . The drama revolves around the fictional football club Earls Park Football Club ( Sparks ). A total of five seasons with a total of 42 episodes were shot. The first and second season consist of eight episodes each, the third and fourth of nine each. The fifth and final season has eight episodes again. One episode lasts about 45 minutes.

First season
The series kicks off with footballer Ian Walmsley , who is offered a place on the Earls Park football team. Meanwhile, his wife, Donna Walmsey, begins the search for their son, whom they put up for adoption nine years ago. Donna's half-sister Marie comes to visit from Bolton to live with Ian and Donna and begins an affair with Jason Turner , who is married to TV journalist Tanya Turner and whom she has kept an eye on for years. Due to her professional work, Tanya initially does not notice her husband's secret affair.
Famous glamor model Chardonnay Lane and soccer player Kyle Pascoe are planning their wedding, although Kyle has been secretly having an affair with his future mother-in-law Jackie . When the football team joins Italian midfielder Salvatore Biagi , Ian Walmsley and his wife worry about Ian's future career. At a team party there is a solid argument between the Turners and club chairman Frank Laslett , who falls into a coma. A drunk Frank's car accident is faked by the gymnasts ...
