The training to become a skilled forest worker can be completed at the Agricultural Technical School Rotholz as well as in Traunkirchen (forestry training center of the BFW) or Schlägl. There are three training paths that conclude with the forestry skilled worker examination.

Teaching

Every skilled forest worker has to complete a three-year apprenticeship in a forest company and attend the state vocational school for forestry in Rotholz for nine weeks each year. Then he has to take a forestry skilled worker examination.
