Vapor Trails is the title of the 17th studio album that the Canadian rock band Rush released in May 2002.

After the severe blows of fate that Neil Peart had to cope with, it was for a long time uncertain whether Rush would get back together. Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee set out to force their solo projects and, if necessary, to go their separate ways. After a motorcycle tour through the States, the drummer felt ready to let the past rest and deal with a new sound of the band in the future.

The result is Vapor Trails : the first album since Caress Of Steel 1975 that does not require any keyboard sounds. That's why the guitar riffs that have become harder and the continuous bass lines are in the foreground in the songs.

The first track starts with a drum intro. The positive atmosphere conveyed by “Ceiling unlimited” or “How it is” contrasts with almost mystical, sad melodies like “Ghost Rider” (in which Neil Peart processed his America / Mexico trip) or “Nocturne”.
