The Hochschoberhütte is a 1st category refuge of the Edelweiss Alpine Club of the Austrian Alpine Club . It is located at 2322  m above sea level. A. south of the Hochschobers in the upper Leibnitz valley. The original hut was built in 1922, expanded in 1935 and burned down in 1983. The current building was erected on the same site and opened in the summer of 1987.

The Hochschoberhütte is suitable for day trips and as a starting point for mountain hikes, such as climbing the Hochschobers ( 3240  m above sea level ), the Hohen ( 3064  m above sea level ) and Niederen Prijakt ( 3056  m above sea level ). The base has 12 beds, 38 Dormitory . The hut is open from mid-June to mid-September. The supply takes place with helicopters .

getting there

The journey by car takes place via Lienz in East Tyrol on the Felbertauernstraße to Ainet on to Oberleibnig from there to the parking lot at Förstner Brindl directly at the Leibnitzbach bridge ( 1656  m above sea level ).

Approach

The approach goes from the parking lot at Förstner Brindl on Eduard-Jordan-Weg Steig No. 914 past Leibnitz Alpe to the Hochschoberhütte, walking time 2 hours.
