Forsvar chief
The Forsvarchef ("Defense Chief") is the commander of the Danish armed forces . He is responsible for the three branches of the army , navy and air force . The Forsvarchef reports to the Danish Ministry of Defense and is a military advisor to the Minister of Defense. Together with the deputy head of defense, he forms the Værnsfælles Forsvarskommando ("Joint Defense Command").
The Forsvarchef is the highest ranking officer in the Danish armed forces; his post is occupied by a general or admiral. Army General Bjørn I. Bisserup has served as Forsvar chief since 2017 .
