Fotbollsgalan
The Fotbollsgalan is an event organized by Svenska Fotbollförbundet and has been held annually in November since 1995 to mark the end of the football season in Sweden. During the event, selected soccer players in particular will be honored for their achievements. The Fotbollsgalan will be broadcast live on television.
Awards
The most important awards presented at the Fotbollsgalan are the Guldbollen awarded by Svenska Fotbollförbundet and the newspaper Aftonbladet for the best football player of the year and the Diamantbollen awarded by the association and the newspaper Sydsvenskan for the best female football player of the year.
Further awards are given for the best newcomers to the Allsvenskan and the Damallsvenskan . In addition, the best players in individual game positions are honored; five athletes are nominated in advance. There are also fair play prizes for the individual professional leagues and awards for the best referee.
During the event, TV4 presented the award for the goal of the year, while the website Fotbollskanalen.se , which is also part of the broadcaster's media group , offered an honorary award.
