Fotije Sladojević

Fotije Sladojević ( Serbian Фотије Сладојевић, born February 1, 1961 in Dujakovci , Banja Luka , Yugoslavia ) is Bishop of Dalmatia of the Serbian Orthodox Church .

Life

He attended elementary school in Čurug and technical high school in Novi Sad .

From 1983 to 1988 he studied Orthodox theology at the University of Belgrade and, after completing his diploma, spent two years in Erlangen for postgraduate theological studies and language studies .

In 1990 he was ordained a monk and later a deacon in the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Batschka in the Kovilj Monastery . In 1991 he was ordained to the monk priesthood. From 1992 to 1993 he was a priest in the Bođani monastery , from 1993 to 1998 professor in the seminary in Sremski Karlovci . In 1998 he was appointed Bishop of Dalmatia by the Episcopal General Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church. During his years in office he was the administrator of the Gornjo Karlovac diocese and the Zagreb-Ljubljana metropolitan area .

His term of office is characterized by the renewal of the spiritual life of the Serbs expelled in the Balkan Wars as well as the renewal of destroyed places of worship and the Krk seminary . In addition to Serbian and English, he also speaks German.
