Foton Auman
Foton Auman is a range of heavy trucks from the People's Republic of China .
history
Beiqi Foton Motor , founded in 1996, carried out initial tests with trucks it had developed in-house until 2001. On August 28, 2002, the model name Auman was launched on the Chinese market. National fame was gained in October 2005 through the land transport of the spacecraft for the manned Shenzhou 6 space flight. Vehicles of this brand were also used for the other overpasses (up to Shenzhou 10 ).
On February 18, 2012, the contract for a joint venture between Foton and Daimler AG was signed and Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive (BFDA) was founded. Since then, for Auman trucks - in addition to Cummins and 12-liter - engines six-cylinder engines of the type OM 457 available in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Mannheim were produced and the emission standard Euro IV meet & V. This motor has been manufactured under license by BFDA since 2017 .
In September 2016, the new Foton Auman EST (Energy Super Truck) was presented, which is marketed as a premium product with equipment that is not usually offered as standard in China (e.g. air suspension for the rear axle, telematics system and ASR ).
