Frédéric Perrier (born February 7, 1977 in Mâcon , France ) is a former French rower .

Career

Perrier began rowing in 1990 at the age of 13. He gained his first international experience at the Nations Cup , the then unofficial world championships for U23-year-olds, in 1996 and 1997. He was nominated for the French junior double foursome, but failed to make it into the final twice. It was not until his last participation in the Nations Cup in 1999 that he was able to celebrate a gold medal win with Adrien Hardy in a double scull at the world championships.

From 1997, Perrier was also repeatedly used in the Rowing World Cup in order to be introduced to the open age group. Until his first and only participation in the world championships, however, he had to wait until 2003 when he was able to qualify for the French large skull boat. At the world championships in Milan, the team with Frédéric Doucet , Xavier Philippe , Jonathan Coeffic and batsman Frédéric Perrier finished 8th and qualified for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. For this regatta, the team was transformed into one position - Cédric Berrest moved to the team for Doucet - but the team was the only one to retire in the repechage and finished 13th and last overall at the Olympic Games.

In the 2006 season, Perrier tried a comeback after a year off. It was reported three times at the World Cup, but was unable to Nachrückende younger rowers more in one claim. At the World Championships in Eton, UK, the young Pierre-Jean Peltier was given preference in the single, whereupon Perrier ended his career in international rowing.

Perrier started for the clubs Société des Régates Mâconnaises and VC Côte Picardie . With a height of 1.91 m, his competition weight was around 82 kg.
