Former Shu kingdom

The Former Shu kingdom ( Chinese  前蜀  /  前蜀 , Pinyin Qiánshǔ ) was one of the chaotic period between the reigns of Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty formed Ten Kingdoms in China. The former Shu Empire was founded by Wang Jian and its capital was in Chengdu , Sichuan . It was the third of a total of four states called Shu on roughly the same territory. The previous, so second, was Shu Han (221-263).

The name of the (former) Shu empire was changed to "Han" in 917/918. In 925 the empire was conquered by the Late Tang Dynasty led by Li Cunxu . Later, the territory of the Early Shu Empire came under the control of Meng Zixiang , who founded the Late Shu Empire .
