description

The spring road in Garmisch towards Wetterstein

The spring road extends on the edge of a high bank terrace of the Loisach . The street is built on one side and was previously called "Am Rain" . The gable-end farmhouses with wide-reaching flat gable roofs are closely lined up, almost closed to the street. The rear narrow plots of land reached to the foot of the Kramer and have mostly been parceled out and built over in recent times. To the south of the property are small house gardens with their sheds and a small forge up to the edge of the terrace. The historical appearance of the spring road has almost been preserved. The row of houses was covered with shingle roofs until the beginning of the century . The spring street shows with No. 23, a mid-tenn house and with No. 29, a solid construction, still significant buildings from the 16th century. The abundance of ornamental gables and wooden balconies as well as the closed and picturesque picture of the row of houses, which mainly dates from the 18th century, have made the street the epitome of an alpine, rural settlement.
