François-Xavier Houlet (2016)

François-Xavier Houlet (born July 8, 1969 in Paris ) is a former French handball player . He last played in the handball Bundesliga at VfL Gummersbach . There he wore jersey number 9 and played in the middle backcourt position . For the French men's national handball team , he played 64 international matches and scored 181 goals. The father of three children (Kenza, Chloé and Lola) has a degree as a sports journalist. His nickname is "Zouzou". In his last game - the last game of the 2006/2007 season on July 2, 2007 - he scored his only and very last goal just before the final whistle against HSG Düsseldorf .

From the 2007/08 season he was managing director for the sports division at VfL Gummersbach. At the end of December 2009, he was relieved of his post. Axel Geerken was his successor .

His daughter Kenza Houlet is in the top French handball division.
