François Dyrek (born August 16, 1933 in Pontoise , France , † December 17, 1999 in Compiègne , France) was a French theater, film and television actor. His name occasionally appears in the different spellings François Dyreck or Francois Dyrex .

Life

After taking acting lessons at the renowned drama school Cours Simon in Paris , Dyrek first came to the Théâtre national populaire (TNP) of Georges Wilson , then to the Théâtre de l'Est Parisien (TEP) of Guy Rétoré . During the 1970s he was a permanent member of the café-théâtre Le Café de la Gare , which was founded on June 12, 1969 by Romain Bouteille and Coluche . The workforce included other well-known French actors such as Patrick Dewaere , Henri Guybet and Miou-Miou . Later, younger colleagues were added, such as Claude Mann . After taking part in the Théâtre des Boucles de la Marne in Champigny-sur-Marne in the 1980s , Dyrek worked with Claude Mann on the project for a theater in Joinville-le-Pont , on the banned mile of Paris, in the 1990s . Before he could finish his work, however, he was torn from life when he died in December 1999 of a heart attack. Claude Mann continued Dyrek's work and named the theater he founded in 2001 as Théâtre François-Dyrek after his deceased friend and colleague .

In addition to his theater engagements, Dyrek also appeared in numerous films, especially in the 1970s to 1990s, until shortly before his death. At the beginning of the 1970s he took supporting roles in internationally known and successful film comedies, for example in Themroc (as a policeman) or Die Filzlaus , where he portrayed an amateur assassin whose attack caught the wrong person, who then went to head and Collar talks and gets liquidated by a professional. Dyrek often played more serious roles in productions on French television.

François Dyrek's son Gilles followed in his father's footsteps and also became an actor, with a preference for comedic roles.
