Miou-Miou (born February 22, 1950 in Paris ), real name Sylvette Herry, is a French actress . She got her nickname , which describes the meowing of a cat, at the age of 18 from her boyfriend at the time.
Life
The daughter of a market woman and a police officer was employed at the Paris experimental theater Café de la Gare after completing her acting training.
For her role as a prostitute in the film The Dropout (La Dérobade) , she received the César for best leading actress in 1980 ; she was nominated nine more times for this award.
Miou-Miou has two daughters and lives in Paris with actor and screenwriter Jean Teulé .
