In 1942 the Jew Lena was interned in the Pyrenees, where she was threatened with deportation. Michel, one of the guards, falls in love with her and enables her to escape. But his condition is that she must marry him. After the war, Michel owned a car repair shop and Lena had two daughters from him. Lena meets Madeleine at a school event. The two begin a homoerotic relationship. Finally, Lena leaves Michel and opens a boutique with Madeleine.
