Abendanzug (original title: Tenue de soirée ) is a French feature film from 1986. Directed by Bertrand Blier .

action

The bisexual burglar Bob meets the couple Monique and Antoine. Monique falls in love with Bob, who is fascinated by the shy Antoine. The three of them get into strange villas. The strong Bob falls in love with the delicate Antoine and conquers him with a pithy turn-on over his own best piece, which he makes palatable: "When he sleeps, he is a grenade, when he stands, a torpedo". Monique is happy because now Antoine also knows what it is like "when you have to hold out". When Monique always has to sleep at the foot of the bed because Bob makes his Antoine happy, she wants to revolt. Bob sells Monique to the pimp Pedro. But since Pedro also has a young prostitute with a huge cock, Bob falls in love with him. Now Antoine becomes jealous and chases the hustler away with the knife. In an epilogue, Bob, Antoine and Monique are reunited and dream of a child together.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films judged: “A brilliantly played and effectively staged comedy that throws bright spotlights on society and interpersonal power structures; With vulgar and obscene dialogues and 'shocks', however, the film exudes exactly that coldness that it claims to denounce. "

Prisma describes the film as “a deep, entertaining comedy about love, sex and sincerity. The brilliant acting performances of Gérard Depardieu, Michel Blanc, who was named best actor for his role at the Venice Film Festival, and Miou-Miou turn the erotic comedy into a comedy of sensual pleasure. Even if the dialogues are sometimes a bit rough and the scenes shown are often shocking, the evening suit remainsa (sic!) Lightly directed film highlight with the appropriate music by Serge Gainsbourg. "

Awards

Evening suit was shown at the 1986 Cannes International Film Festival . Michel Blanc received (together with Bob Hoskins in Mona Lisa ) the award for best actor. When the César was awarded in 1987, the film was nominated for numerous categories - Best Film , Best Director and Best Screenplay (Bertrand Blier), Best Actor (Michel Blanc), Best Actress (Miou-Miou), Best Score (Serge Gainsbourg), Best tone (Dominique Hennequin and Bernard Bats) and best editing (Claudine Merlin) - but couldn't win any of these awards.
