César / Best Screenplay

Winner and nominee of the French César film award in the Best Screenplay category (Meilleur scénario original ou adaptation) . For the first time, winners in this category were chosen at the first award ceremony in 1976. Between 1983 and 1985, film scripts based on original scripts and adapted scripts (film scripts based on another work such as a novel, a short story or another film) were awarded prizes separately. Both categories were reintroduced at the 2006 César Awards .
