Jean Penzer

Jean Penzer (born October 1, 1927 in Livry-Gargan , France ) is a French cameraman .

Life

Jean Penzer was trained at the École Louis Lumière and, after a few years as a camera assistant, photographed his first film as head cameraman in 1957.

In the following years he worked for a number of prominent directors in French entertainment cinema such as Claude Berri , Jean Girault and Henri Verneuil . More demanding tasks awaited him in the less media hype in productions by Chantal Akerman (Rendezvous d'Anna) and Jacques Demy (A Room in the City) .
