Wife to give away (original title: Préparez vos mouchoirs ) is a French - Belgian comedy film by director Bertrand Blier from 1978.
action
The marriage between Raoul and Solange is not a particularly happy one. Although Solange would like to have children, the two have so far remained childless. Raoul thinks Solange is dissatisfied with him and she needs a change. So he goes looking for a lover for her. He meets Stéphane in a café, who agrees with both of them and agrees to the following ménage à trois. Solange is now going to bed with Stéphane, but the situation does not change. So that Solange gets in contact with children, the three of them go to a children's holiday camp as carers. There they become aware of 13 year old Christian. The highly intelligent boy comes from a very wealthy family and is marginalized and tortured by his peers. Solange soon developed more than just friendly feelings for the adolescent.
One night Christian visits her in her room, which she will have alone during the camp, and against better judgment Solange sleeps with Christian. Regardless of purely sexual fulfillment, she finds in the growing boy what the two men were unable to give her. Together they kidnap the boy from his boarding school after the holidays. The unequal couple is even expecting offspring, and Solange spends the time until the birth as a housemaid in Christian's family villa.
After Christian's mother had a car accident while trying to free her son from the hands of the alleged kidnappers and lost her memory, she began a new life with another man. As a result, Christian's director and father is so sick that he has to take over the management of the company for a while, despite his youth. Raoul and Stéphane get caught up in the mills of the judiciary because of the kidnapping and other matters and are serving a temporary sentence. Then they decide to stay alone from now on.
