Max Hegemann

Max Georg Wilhelm Hegemann (born August 6, 1876 in Berlin ; † July 8, 1921 in Hamburg ) was a German trade union official, Hamburg parliamentarian and senator ( SPD ).

Life

Hegemann grew up in Forst and attended elementary school. From 1890 he completed a four-year bakery training and then went on a hike . After working as agitation manager in Mannheim , Hegemann got a paid position at the skilled workers' association in Hamburg in 1903. In January 1907 he was elected managing director of his association, in this function he was also a board member of the Hamburg trade union cartel . He held these positions until July 1919, interrupted by his participation in the First World War from 1914 to 1918.

In the new elections for Hamburg's citizenship in 1919, Hegemann won a mandate for the SPD; he was a member of the citizenship until 1921. Hegemann was elected to the Hamburg Senate in a by-election on July 16, 1919 for Heinrich Lorenz, who had resigned . Hegemann was seriously ill from November 1920 and could no longer pursue the Senate business. Berthold Grosse was elected to the Senate after Hegemann's death.
