Career

The 171 centimeter tall central defender Stasiak belonged to the squad of the first division club AS Troyes-Savinienne in the 1955/56 season . At a time when substitutions and substitutions were not yet possible, he booked five missions and had to accept relegation to the second division at the end of the season in 1956. Then he was not represented in professional football for a year . In 1957 he made his return to these when he signed with the capital club CA Paris . In the second division he became a regular player, but he turned his back on the club in 1958 after a season to move to city rivals Stade Français .

At the Stade Français he became a top performer, achieved promotion with the team in the 1958/59 season and did not miss a single game on the way there. Even in the top French league he remained firmly established and was on the field in almost all games, where he and his team were able to keep relegation again and again. In the mid-1960s, little changed in that his club could just keep the first class, but Stasiak remained loyal to the team from Paris over the years. This loyalty was rewarded with the fact that he was allowed to take part in the Messestädte Cup twice with the team in 1964 and 1965, despite poor results in the league , and thus played a total of six matches at European level. When Stade Français in 1967 had to leave the first division after eight years in relegation battle, Stasiak left the club after nine years; With 280 first division games, he is the record player of the Stade Français in the first division.

After leaving Paris, Stasiak signed in 1967 with AS Aix, the first league promoted to the south of France . In 1968 he experienced the second descent in a row with this. He followed the club into the second division and remained a regular player until he ended his career in 1969 at the age of 32 after 304 first division games and 112 second division games with two goals each. He later lived in the Burgundian city of Decize .
