Franček Brglez
Franček Brglez (born April 4, 1922 in Čadram ( Oplotnica municipality ), † October 25, 1997 in Ljubljana ) was a Yugoslav , later Slovenian, correspondence chess player .

Brglez worked as a journalist for Radio Ljubljana and for several newspapers.
Correspondence chess
From 1967 he took part in international distance tournaments. He immediately won the 4th European Championship in 1967/1970. For this he received the title International Master of Correspondence Chess in 1970 . In 1972 he played in the final of the 7th World Correspondence Chess Championship. For his result in the 1st Vidmar Memorial, he was awarded the title of Correspondence Chess Grandmaster in 1975 . Later he took part in the 8th FS Olympiad, the 11th and 12th World Championships and the 12th Olympiad. He was also invited to major international commemorative tournaments.

Brglez was one of the founders of the Slovenian Chess Federation. He became their first president. He represented the association at the ICCF , until 1995 he was its vice-president. His 15 years at the ICCF was honored with the Bertl von Massow Medal in gold .
